Miley Cyrus appeared in an all-black leather outfit at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards last night, where she accepted the Innovator Award. Cyrus just appeared on the red carpet for the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.
Fresh off the release of Hannah Montana: 20th Anniversary Special, Miley Cyrus attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday night. She ditched the nostalgic Disney look for the event and instead opted for a more minimalist look, wearing a long black leather jacket and coordinating pants. She accessorized with pointy heels and a simple ring.
Cyrus received the Innovator Award at last night’s ceremony, a career honor that recognizes her continued contributions to music and culture. As Billboard noted, past winners include Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and more.
Earlier this week, Cyrus paid homage to the Disney Channel character at the premiere of Hannah Montana’s 20th anniversary special, wearing a Hannah Montana T-shirt and a crystal Rabanne dress.
She recently spoke about her time on Hannah Montana in a cover story for Variety magazine. “A lot of artists want to be the next version of themselves and feel like they have to leave something behind. But I’d rather be like a gorgeous patchwork blanket. I want to take everything I’ve ever been, bit by bit, and create a mosaic of who I am right now. I don’t want to throw away any of my past, but I make sure it comes with me.”
She also talked about how open she would be to performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, a feat achieved by past Innovator Award winners Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.
“I always think there’s too much pressure at the Super Bowl,” she admitted. “You’re going to have to do the mental work of not bringing up the Super Bowl because then you can’t help but think, ‘Oh, millions of people are watching this, it’s the most-watched show in the world.’
But under the right circumstances, she would accept it, she admitted. “But if I can find a way to travel through my discography and appreciate each song, each era for what they are, and make it very much Hannaversary, I think I can find it within myself.”
