Italian producer Aurelio De Laurentiis, nephew of the late great film giant Dino De Laurentiis, will host the U.S. premiere of Ag4in, a documentary chronicling SSC Napoli soccer club’s fourth Italian Serie A championship victory in 2025.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is scheduled to attend a gala event on April 6th at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.
The celebration will honor De Laurentiis, president of SSC Napoli, for his entrepreneurial achievements in film and sports, and will bring together celebrities from the Los Angeles soccer world, professional athletes, Hollywood figures and special guests “to celebrate sport and its growing influence ahead of the FIFA World Cup and the Los Angeles Olympics,” according to a statement.
De Laurentiis made the leap from movies to sports 22 years ago in 2004, when he bought the SSC Napoli soccer club and saved it from bankruptcy. Napoli’s legacy is defined by some of the most iconic players in soccer history. First and foremost, Diego Maradona was with the club from 1984 to 1991 and helped make Napoli one of the most famous organizations in football.
The Ag4in document, created by De Laurentiis, provides an insider’s perspective on how Antonio Conte’s club overcame a series of obstacles to win the 2025 Serie A title – their fourth title and second under De Laurentiis – and how the city of Napoli responded with an unprecedented celebration.
The screening will be followed by a conversation about the growth of soccer in the United States and Los Angeles’ new role as a major soccer capital, according to a statement.
“Napoli is more than just a football club, it is a symbol of identity, passion and belief,” said De Laurentiis.
“Bringing this story to Los Angeles at a time when the world of soccer is paying attention to Los Angeles is both a celebration of what we’ve accomplished and an invitation to what’s next.”
