Rahel Solomon, an up-and-coming CNN personality who most recently anchored the network’s early time slots, is leaving the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed station.
“I have decided that this week will be my last week at CNN. I don’t know yet what I’ll do next, but I’m really excited about the next chapter,” Solomon said during Monday’s broadcast of her show “Early Start.” She promoted her role working as a business correspondent for CNN. “I’ve covered everything from inflation to the job market and everything in between. It’s an honor. It’s an honor.”
Solomon essentially “opens” CNN’s programming schedule every weekday morning, leading the first original time slot on the network’s daytime schedule (Elex Mikaleson ends at 2 a.m. ET, and CNN typically airs several hours of reruns and select programming before Solomon’s show). The show was originally titled “5 Things About Rahel Solomon” and first aired in March 2025.
Mr. Solomon previously worked as a business correspondent for CNN International, covering events such as the 2023 U.S. banking crisis and UBS’s emergency takeover of Credit Suisse. She joined CNN in 2022 after working at CNBC, where she worked as a general news reporter appearing on shows such as “Halftime Report” and “Power Lunch.” Solomon also worked as a morning news anchor for KYW in his hometown of Philadelphia.
Solomon graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She also earned a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
