Emmy Award-winning actor and comedian Jeff Hiller will serve as the celebrity grand marshal of the Los Angeles Pride Parade, organizers announced Tuesday.
The 56th annual gala will be held on June 14 with the theme “Rise With Pride.” The event is produced by the Christopher Street West Association, the nonprofit organization behind the world’s first permitted LGBTQ+ Pride Parade in 1970.
Civil rights attorney Mia Yamamoto will serve as Regional Grand Marshal, and the late Shirley Rains, who passed away earlier this year, will be honored as Legacy Grand Marshal.
“‘Rise with Pride’ is more than just a theme, it’s a responsibility,” CSW Board of Directors Chairman Lawrence Carroll said in a statement. “We are focused on accessibility, sustainability, and innovation. LA Pride is rooted in service.”
Hiller, best known for her role in the Emmy Award-winning HBO comedy “Somebody Somewhere,” has had an extensive television career, appearing in series such as “American Horror Stories,” “30 Rock” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” In addition to her work as an actor, Hiller released a memoir, Actresses of an Era, in 2025 and recently sold a television pilot while working on a project with Zachary Quinto’s production company.
Yamamoto is a transgender criminal defense attorney and longtime LGBTQ+ advocate who has fought for civil rights in California for decades. She was born in a Japanese American internment camp during World War II, served in the U.S. Army, and went on to become a prominent legal advocate for marginalized communities.
Raines, founder of the nonprofit organization Beauty 2 the Streets, will be honored posthumously. Affectionately known as “Ms. Shirley,” she became nationally known for her work providing meals, hygiene services, and renovations to the unhoused residents of Los Angeles’ Skid Row.
The parade route begins at Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue and passes through Hollywood Boulevard and Cahuenga Boulevard. Alongside the parade, the free Pride Village Festival will return, featuring performances, community organizations and local vendors.
