Rivalry star Connor Story did not attend tonight’s Oscar ceremony with co-star Hudson Williams. Story is not a presenter and there are no nominated works this year. He was photographed with Williams at a pre-Oscar party earlier this weekend.
Rivalry star Hudson Williams made his Oscar debut tonight, but co-star Connor Story wasn’t in attendance. Story did not appear at the Los Angeles ceremony, but attended CAA’s pre-Oscar party with Williams on March 13. Ahead of the show, multiple sources told Variety that Story will not be attending the ceremony, although Williams will be in attendance.
Story has no nominated projects this year and is not a presenter. He was still able to attend the after-party.
Story and Williams have attended several events together, but they also actively participate in separate events. Williams explained to Wonderland magazine why, saying he and the story align.
“We want to be different artists,” he said. “We don’t want to be the Olsen twins. We want to be Connor and Hudson, with different filmography and different contracts. As long as we love each other, we don’t have to make our friendship public. Jacob[Tierney, Rivals showrunner]famously said, “[The characters]Shane and Elijah are for the public. Connor and Hudson are for themselves.” That’s how we feel. People always want to see us together in the front row, but we actively avoid that because it feels like branding. If you are always seen together, you will start to get attached to your waist. I FaceTime with him whenever I have free time. But if I were offered the same fashion show, I would be like, ‘Which one would you go to? ” I think. Okay, I’ll go somewhere else. ” We are stubborn, selfish artists who want to be just like us. We’re like, “I love you.” I don’t want to do everything with you. ”
