Friday’s box office numbers were a reminder that audiences love a good romance.
“Reminder of Him,” based on the original story by Colleen Hoover, became number one at the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed $8 million on its opening night.
The project will be Hoover’s third big-screen adaptation, following 2024’s It Ends With Us and 2025’s Regretting You.
Reminders of Him stars Maika Monroe as Kenna, a mother trying to rebuild her life after being released from prison.
The cast also includes Bradley Whitford, Lauren Graham, Tyrik Withers, Jennifer Robertson, and Rudy Pankow.
“The Hoppers” came in second with $7.1 million.
The Post previously praised the animated sci-fi comedy, saying, “What separates ‘Hoppers’ from the recent crop of Pix movies that were wholesome church bake sales is its comic irreverence.”
The film’s success ended Pixar’s long losing streak. The last big-scoring opening weekend for the company was 2017’s “Coco.”
Meanwhile, “Undertone” took third place with revenue of $4.3 million. The A24 indie film stars Nina Kiri, Adam DiMarco, Michelle Duque, Kiana Lynn Bastidas, Jeff Yong, and Ryan Turner.
Kiri stars as a paranormal podcaster who is haunted by ghost recordings.
Another horror favorite, “Scream,” came in fourth with $2.6 million.
The slasher film, released on February 27th, became the highest-grossing domestic debut in the series’ history with $63.6 million.
Rounding out the top five was Caleb McLaughlin and Stephen Curry’s animated sports comedy “GOAT” with $1.2 million.
