Bethenny Frankel slammed a “messed up” scene on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” that included a scene in which Rachel Zoe tells her children about her divorce from their father.
“There’s a scene from ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ featuring Rachel Zoe and her kids, and I just watched it on this app,” the former “Real Housewives of New York City” alum said on TikTok on Tuesday.
“This was very disturbing because it clearly shows the potential damage reality TV can do and the price you pay and sell your soul to the devil,” she explained.
Frankel, who has daughter Bryn, 15, with ex-husband Jason Hoppy, said she went through a “very public divorce” and was “preparing for Easter on the show and earning bread” to prove that she was living a “miserable” life.
“My daughter wasn’t on the show, she was watching Rachel and the kids, and that scene was definitely a challenge for the producers to say, ‘Tell your kids what it’s like to be going through this divorce,'” she said, referring to a candid scene between fashion designer Skylar Morrison, 14, and Caius Jagger, 12, about her estranged husband, Roger Berman.
The former “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” star, 55, claimed that producers would have her bring up the subject of her ex on the show in order to create content for the show.
“That was the price, the price, of being on the show… It wasn’t great. (They’re) kids, adolescents, teens who aren’t fully formed as people, and their parents are like, ‘How do you feel?'” Frankel added.
“Why have that kind of discussion at this age and stage? Unless you have to do this for pay or prestige or some kind of promotion in business, the cost is high,” she added.
“The cost of having to put my kids on TV and ask them about divorce was so huge that it actually made me uncomfortable.”
Frankel clarified that her opinion on the scene was “not meant to belittle or criticize anyone,” but said it was “messed up,” because she knows how reality shows work.
“It made me very uncomfortable,” she concluded.
A source close to Zoe told Page Six: “Rachel is a mother first and foremost in her life and has spoken openly and consistently to her children about the divorce. They have adjusted well and are happy.”
Zoe’s business contact said: “Rachel has had many successful businesses and investments, but she didn’t join the show because she ‘needs a paycheck’.”
Page Six reached out to Zoe and Bravo for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
On last week’s episode of “RHOBH,” Zoe told her sons that she had officially filed for divorce from their father, Berman.
The celebrity stylist even said in response to Caius’ question that she no longer loves Berman.
Zoe told her sons that it was “important” to have an “open forum” when discussing personal topics.
The mother-of-two filed for divorce from Mr Berman in July 2025 after 27 years of marriage.
The “Living In Style” author is a new cast member of the reality show “RHOBH,” joining Season 15.
