“Teen Mom” alum Jenelle Evans’ eldest son Jace has been admitted to a mental health facility after allegedly pointing a gun at his grandmother.
Sources told TMZ on Tuesday that the 16-year-old boy was under the influence of drugs and alcohol and had threatened to commit suicide and kill Barbara Evans.
The outlet reported that Barbara has reported her grandson to the police and plans to file legal documents to help deal with him.
It is unclear how long he will be receiving treatment, but his family is focused on his “health and stability,” the source added.
A rep for Jenelle, 34, told Page Six: “We respectfully request privacy for our family and Jenelle Evans at this time. This is a personal matter and we appreciate your space and understanding as they value their health and time together. Thank you for respecting their privacy during this time.”
According to the paper, Jace’s latest confrontation occurred on February 22nd after police responded to a call of “teenage disturbance” at Barbara’s home in North Carolina.
Seven police officers were called to the property where the boy was living.
Jenelle shot to fame after appearing on MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” after expecting her first child with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis.
The television personality became pregnant with Jace during her senior year of high school.
She has an 11-year-old son, Kaiser Orion, with ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffiths, and a nine-year-old daughter, Ensley Jolie, with her estranged husband David Eason, who she split in 2024.
Jenelle and Eason were previously charged with child neglect after Jace ran away for the third time in October 2023.
According to TMZ, Jace told police that Eason assaulted him and that he had bruises on his arms and neck.
The altercation was also captured on surveillance video from the front door, which was obtained by Child Protective Services.
At the time, Barbara told investigators that her grandson ran away because of Eason’s alleged abuse.
However, Jenelle denied the allegations on Instagram, saying Eason was not involved in the runaway incident and that her estranged mother is “telling a lot of false things.”
Barbara had custody of Jace for 13 years after Jenelle was charged with trespassing and marijuana possession when she was 18. Jace, formerly of MTV, regained custody in March 2023.
