Steve Carell plans to return to college.
“Rooster,” HBO’s newest Sunday night series starring “The Office” star, premieres tonight, March 8th. The half-hour comedy is brought to the streamer by Bill Lawrence, creator of the critically acclaimed comedies “Scrubs,” “The Shrinking” and “Ted Lasso.”
Carell plays Greg Russo, a best-selling author who deals with his own relationship issues while navigating a complicated relationship with his daughter (Charlie Clive) on a college campus where he works as a professor.
The series also features Daniel Deadwyler and Scrubs alums John C. McGinley and Phil Dunster, who also appear elsewhere in Lawrence’s poems as the protagonists of Ted Lasso.

The premiere episode of “Rooster” will be released on HBO Max at 10pm ET, the same time it premieres on the HBO cable channel.
