Former Prince Andrew’s daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are said to be “horrified” by their father’s public scandal and arrest.
“Eugenie and Beatrice have had to make changes to their public schedule this year and their plans for the future,” a source told Us Weekly on Thursday, adding that the sisters, who are not working royals, “are not as worried about Andrew being arrested and imprisoned, but they are still horrified by his involvement in this incident and are concerned that more incidents may occur in the future.”
The daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson witnessed their father’s titles (including Prince and Duke of York) being stripped in October 2025, as well as his arrest on his 66th birthday on February 19, following the release of documents about the late Jeffrey Epstein.
He is accused of misconduct in public office.
The former prince was also ordered to leave the Royal Lodge, where he lived for many years, and left last month.
The impact has been “devastating” for her daughter, a source told the publication, adding: “In London, that’s all people talk about.”
Another source told the outlet that Beatrice and Eugenie, who was seen out and about with husband Jack Brooksbank on February 24, plan to reduce their public appearances “in the near future.”
“Given everything surrounding their parents, the sisters actually don’t have any plans for any public events in the near future because they know that will be the focus,” a second source explained to the outlet.
The source also insisted Eugenie and Beatrice were not “banned” from Royal Ascot this year because of the drama surrounding their father.
“They weren’t going to be there anyway,” the official claimed. “They were not scheduled to attend.”
The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that the couple had been “blindsided” by the decision not to allow them to attend traditional events due to their parents’ alleged relationship with the late convicted sex offender.
However, a second source for Us Weekly insists the sisters are “not estranged” from the royal family, including Prince William and Duchess Kate, and that they remain “close”.
“They’ve done enough,” the official said. “They are not blamed. There is a lot of compassion. They are not outcasts. They are cared for and loved even under incredibly difficult circumstances.”
She added: “The only thing that has changed is the feeling towards Andrew and Fergie. They are not holding Beatrice and Eugenie accountable. They are the victims. … They have strong ties to the royal family and they continue to receive support from them.”
Page Six’s sources said that her mother was with friends, including Priscilla Presley, during the drama, but noted that it may be best for Ferguson to publicly distance herself under the circumstances.
“They are the only real royals in the family now that Andrew has lost his royal title,” a source told Us on Wednesday. “It’s more important than ever to keep them as far away from scandal as possible.”
Representatives for Eugenie and Beatrice’s parents, Prince William and Duchess Kate, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Thursday evening.
