Hudson Williams did not attend the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1st. Williams cheered on his “Rivals” co-star Connor Story on Saturday Night Live the night before. Story gave a presentation at the awards ceremony while Williams was absent.
Connor Story attended the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1st, where he also served as a presenter, but his Rivals co-star Hudson Williams declined to travel to Los Angeles for the ceremony.
Williams’ representatives did not give a reason for not attending this year’s Actor Awards, but Williams had been in New York the previous day, February 28, to film a cameo on Story’s “Saturday Night Live.” Contrary to the story, Williams had no plans to attend the awards ceremony and likely decided to skip the show altogether as a result.
Distance may also have played a role in Williams’ absence from the acting awards. He lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the journey from New York City to Los Angeles and back to Vancouver may have been too much for the rising star.
Williams has several projects lined up that will keep him busy now and in the coming weeks. Following the success of The Rival, he has been cast in the upcoming series Yaga, which tells the myth of Baba Yaga.
On February 18, Deadline reported that he would play Henry Park, the young heir to a powerful fishing family in Yaga. According to the newspaper, the story is, “Private detective Rapp (Noah Reid) investigating Henry’s disappearance finds himself drawn into a labyrinth of mysterious suspects, secret lives, and ancient magic, including Carson (Clark Backko), an anxious local detective, and Katherine (Carrie-Anne Moss), a charismatic college professor with an interest in younger men.”
Williams is also scheduled to begin filming Season 2 of Heat Rivalry later this year in August. “As soon as humanly possible, you’ll see more heated rivalries on your televisions,” showrunner Jacob Tierney said in a joint interview with executive producer Brendan Brady on CBS Morning in February 2026. Brady added that “like the best part of this show,” fans should “enjoy the adoration.”
