Josh Duhamel and Fergie called it quits, citing “differences of opinion.”
The actor gave rare insight into his 2017 breakup with the Black Eyed Peas member, 50, on Monday’s podcast “The Skinny Confidential.”
“We’re very different,” the “Ransom Canyon” star, 53, told listeners. “She and I just have different worldviews, and that’s okay.”
However, Duhamel clarified that he has “no regrets” over his failed marriage to the singer, who divorced in 2019.
“We have a beautiful son,” he exclaimed, referring to 12-year-old Axel.
The former soap star went on to compare Fergie to his wife, Audra Mari, noting that the Grammy winner and model, 32, are “very different in a lot of ways, but they’re both really, really amazing women.”
“Fergie, believe it or not, is also very healthy, especially since she stepped away from everything,” he added.
“She’s a wonderful mother, very kind, very non-confrontational. Thank God.”
Regarding the former couple’s current status, Duhamel explained, “[Fergie and I]have a great relationship. She and Audra have a great relationship, too.”
Duhamel popped the question three years after breaking up with Mari in 2019.
The couple walked down the aisle in North Dakota in September 2022 and welcomed their son, Shepard, in January 2024.
The following year, Duhamel spoke more about his and Fergie’s breakup on “In Depth With Graham Bensinger.”
“There was nothing wrong with[our relationship],” he claimed in a 2023 interview.
“We had a great time. I think we both grew up and had very different interests.”
Additionally, the “All My Children” alum said she was “not happy at all” with Fergie’s fame because she’s “not someone who’s comfortable going on the red carpet[and]doing all the Hollywood work.”
