Superfake, announced in January 2025 with a series order from Peacock, also stars Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Jones Lee and Keith Leung.
“Superfake” will be executive produced by Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie. Howard Klein and Olivia Gerke won three art awards. Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, Liu. The series is from Emmy Award winner Ju, whose writing and producing credits include “Beef” and “Poker Face.” A24 and UCP, a division of Universal Studios Group, are also producing.
Nguyen has made a bit of a comeback in the U.S. in recent years with roles such as Son Pham in Dope Thief, the Netflix film Blade of the 47 Ronin, and the crime drama film The Accidental Getaway Driver, which premiered at Sundance in 2023. He also appeared in Justin Lin’s “Warrior” series and the “47 Ronin” sequel. Before that, Nguyen was a successful filmmaker and star, and spent several years in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen is represented by Mr. Buchwald and JDS.
