Crispin Glover is being sued by an alleged ex-girlfriend who claims the “Back to the Future” actor used her for “sex and free labor” after luring her with the promise of a job opportunity in Los Angeles.
According to a civil complaint filed Wednesday and obtained by Variety, Mr. Glover is accused of “violations of assault, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and painful conduct stemming from a disturbing series of incidents in which Ms. Jane Doe was effectively imprisoned and used by Mr. Glover for sex and unpaid labor under false pretenses.”
Doe, a 30-year-old former model from Britain, claims she was “seduced and manipulated” into moving to Los Angeles to work as Glover’s assistant in the entertainment industry. The two first connected through social media in 2015, according to the suit, and Glover allegedly made “strange developments” and encouraged her to come to Los Angeles for years. In 2023, Doe and Glover met in person in Dresden, Germany, where he allegedly showed her Nazi memorabilia from Doe’s personal collection.
In a series of phone calls and correspondence in 2023, Glover “promised Jane Doe a new life through some kind of business relationship in which she could start over and build a career in the entertainment industry,” according to the complaint. She eventually moved to LA in early 2024.
“But when Ms. Doe took the bait and uprooted herself and moved to Los Angeles, she found herself in a disturbing situation where Mr. Glover controlled her movements, tracked her whereabouts, and essentially wanted her to serve him as his live-in girlfriend and sex slave,” the lawsuit reports.
Ms. Doe claims that she was wrongfully evicted and that Mr. Glover filed false legal actions against her, including a fraudulent motion for a restraining order, because she refused to comply with Mr. Doe’s “increasingly bizarre and inappropriate demands.”
In a statement shared with Variety, Mr. Glover’s attorney said, “Mr. Glover denies these baseless allegations in the strongest possible terms. The reality is that on March 2, 2024, Mr. Glover was at his home in Los Angeles in an unsubstantiated interview with Jane Doe. Mr. Glover called the Los Angeles Police Department, who came to the scene, investigated, and arrested Jane Doe. These facts are documented in law enforcement records and in the restraining order filed.” At the time, Mr. Glover intended to vigorously defend Jane Doe and seek all remedies. He is confident that this lawsuit will be exposed as a baseless fabrication. ”
Glover is best known for his role as the clumsy George McFly in 1985’s Back to the Future. His other credits include “Charlie’s Angels,” “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” “Willard” and “River’s Edge.”
