Meghan Markle brought her high-low sensibilities to Jordan.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, wore a mix of designer and high street pieces on Thursday as she and her husband Prince Harry, 41, accompanied a World Health Organization delegation to the National Center for Rehabilitation of Addicts (NCRA) in Amman.
She stayed cozy in a Zara topstitched taupe jacket ($169) paired with black wide-legged pants, and added a touch of luxury with Chanel low-heeled pumps.
The shoe features a velvet cap toe and gold logo accents on the heel, and is no longer available at retailers, but a similar slingback style sells for $1,175.
Markle kept her accessories to a minimum, wearing only her favorite Cartier Love bracelet and Welsh gold wedding ring, leaving her diamond engagement ring and other flashy jewelry at home.
It was the second time the “With Love, Meghan” host turned to the Spanish fast-fashion giant during a surprise two-day trip. She also wore a polished white Veronica Beard tweed suit with Zara ankle-strap heeled sandals ($79) while arriving in Amman on Wednesday.
The couple traveled to Jordan at the invitation of WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to participate in activities focused on humanitarian health, mental health and support for conflict-affected communities.
Their visit included a stop at the world’s largest Zaatari refugee camp, home to some 80,000 people, where Markle swapped her heels for Vince boat shoes and played soccer with displaced Syrian children.
At NCRA, Prince Harry and Markle wrote a note of encouragement to patients. Prince Harry wrote a message that read, “It’s okay to not be okay. We have faith in each other,” while Duchess Kate wrote calligraphy on another sticky note, congratulating patients for their dedication to treatment.
Markle is no stranger to mixing designer and high street. For the Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” she styled $1,700 worth of cashmere sweaters and $50 Zara pants, telling guest Mindy Kaling, “I like high-lows.” She also teamed a Zara playsuit with Saint Laurent slides at the 2023 Invictus Games in Düsseldorf.
Sister-in-law Duchess Kate adopted a similar strategy, pairing a Zara bouclé blazer with a Chanel mini-flap bag for the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Marseille, France.
