Amazon MGM Studios is developing a scripted series based on Vivian Tu’s nonfiction book Rich AF: The Money Mindset That Will Change Your Life.
Mallory Rosenthal (Panic) will serve as writer and executive producer, with Too and Sarah Kuselka, co-showrunner of The Summer of Beauty, also serving as executive producers. PKM Productions’ Patrick Moran and Lynley Bird will serve as executive producers under a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios. PKM originally brought the project to Amazon.
The project’s logline reads: “A rags-to-riches story in which Leah, the 23-year-old daughter of a billionaire and rising star on Wall Street, exposes her father’s white-collar crimes, loses everything she once held dear, and must start from scratch. As she struggles to build a freelance career and learns that wealth is not measured only in dollars, she finds herself torn between her former glorious life and her new, meaner life.”
“‘Rich AF’ is a love letter to anyone who’s ever been broke, lost, or felt like they needed to start over in life,” Tu said in a statement. “We are so grateful to be working with PKM, Sarah, Mallory, and the incredible Amazon Studios team to bring the energy and strength of Rich AF to life on screen.”
Mr. Tu is currently SoFi’s Chief Financial Empowerment Officer and a New York Times bestselling author. Her second book, Rich Wealth: The Secrets of Strategic Spending, Building a Financial Foundation for You and Your Family, and Creating Lasting Generational Wealth, was published earlier this month.
Moran, a former president of ABC Studios, is also currently an executive producer on USA Network’s adaptation of John Grisham’s “Rainmaker,” which has been renewed for a second season in October 2025. He signed a contract with Amazon in 2019.
Tu is repped by WME, Hansen Jacobson and 42West. Kucserka is repped by WME and 3Arts Entertainment. Rosenthal is represented by WME, Amplified Management, and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson LLP. Moran is repped by Myman Greenspan.
