Ang Lee Bogan has been cast in the pilot for an untitled NBC drama from Dean Georgis and John Foxx, Variety reports.
Bogan will co-star with previously announced star Emily Deschanel in the pilot, which is inspired by the real-life research of internationally renowned professional profiler and author Dr. Anne Burgess.
The pilot’s logline reads, “Professor Georgia Ryan (Deschanel) is a pioneering psychologist who challenges the field of criminology by shifting the focus of investigations from perpetrators to victims in order to uncover important clues left behind by traditional methods. Together with her team, this pioneering expert turns to the FBI to solve some of the most mysterious and elusive cases.”
Bogan plays Natalie Washington. According to the official character description, “She suffers from mood hypersensitivity, a rare condition that allows her to recall every moment of every day of her life with perfect clarity. This extraordinary talent gives her unparalleled investigative abilities. She instantly remembers details that others forget. She quickly sees patterns that others miss.”
Bogan is known for her roles in films such as “The Society of Magical Negroes of America” and short films such as “Let” and “Half Moon.” She recently finished filming the indie feature “Echo Lake.” She has also appeared on television shows such as CBS’s “Bull” and “Elementary.”
Bogan is repped by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
George Garris and Foxx will serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot, with John Davis serving as executive producer through Davis Entertainment. In addition to starring, Deschanel will also produce. Burgess is a consulting producer, as is Steve Constantine. Produced by Universal Television.
