Christy Carlson Romano slammed former “Even Stevens” co-star Shia LaBeouf after he was arrested in New Orleans.
“You stopped ‘telling yourself’ when asked about your old co-stars,” the Disney Channel alum wrote alongside a new Instagram clip shared on Wednesday.
She lip-synced the phrase “I’m not involved. You made it clear” in the video.
Romano, who recently revealed that she tested positive for cancer, wrote in the caption, “I’m too big to fry🐟.”
Romano did not explicitly criticize LaBeouf, who played her brother on the hit Disney Channel series that aired from 2000 to 2003, but her post came just hours after his arrest.
In a 2021 YouTube video, Romano opened up about his rift with LaBeouf, admitting that he was “salty” about LaBeouf’s post-“Even Stevens” success.
“We used to see each other every day and then we didn’t see each other for years until he became such a big star,” she said. “I think for a while the specter of who the Shire was and what it had become was really frustrating for me.”
Romano explained that, despite becoming a huge Hollywood star with “Transformers,” she had “an undercurrent of regret” over choosing to attend college.
Romano also admitted that despite what fans may have thought, she and LaBeouf were just “co-workers” and were never actually close.
“To be honest, I don’t know what he thought of me. He never let me know,” she said. “Unfortunately, I feel like we missed an opportunity to bond.”
LaBeouf, 39, was arrested Tuesday after being punched in a brawl during Mardi Gras.
The “Hole’s” star was charged with two counts of simple assault and spent time in prison at the Orleans Parish Jail in Louisiana, Page Six confirmed.
A local bartender told The Hollywood Reporter that LaBeouf was “terrorizing the town,” while a dive bar doorman claimed that LaBeouf was “somewhat belligerent” when he approached the establishment without a shirt or cash.
After being released on Tuesday, LaBeouf continued to party, even mocking his arrest by dancing with prison documents in his mouth.
Page Six also confirmed that LaBeouf secretly split from his wife, Mia Goth, about a year ago.
The former lovers got married in 2016 and had a daughter in 2022.
