Adult Swim is expanding its animation footprint with “My Two Cars,” a new four-hour comedy from co-creators Dan Licata (“Saturday Night Live,” “Teenage Euthanasia”) and Joe Pera (“Joe Pera Speaks”). Produced by Green Street Pictures (Common Side Effect, Scavenger’s Rain), the series follows Keith Ashole, an Ohio man who faces the absurd and epic dilemma of choosing which of his two favorite cars to drive every day. Licata provides the voice of Kes.
“It’s a simple premise with good characters and great cars,” Licata and Pera said. “Thank you Adult Swim for allowing us to see such ridiculous ideas throughout the season.”
Adult Swim President Michael O’Welleen added, “Few shows (and fewer showrunners) have the courage to explore life’s biggest questions, but Dan and Joe confront head-on the puzzle of which car to drive today.”
“My Two Cars” is Pera’s second series on Adult Swim and marks Licata’s return to the network after contributing to Pera’s previous series. Green Street Pictures will animate the new series, continuing the studio’s Emmy and Annie Award-nominated track record.
