Jason Aldean had a simple response to Zach Bryan’s continued criticism after Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show.
Brian took aim at Aldean and Brantley Gilbert, who performed “Dirt Road Anthem” on the Feb. 8 show.
The “Something in the Orange” singer posted a video of himself and Harley Carmichael singing a parody of Gilbert’s song, which Aldean covered on his 2010 album “My Kinda Party.”
Gilbert seemed to laugh off the jab, posting a video of himself eating a chili dog in response to Bryan’s parody song, which featured the altered lyrics, “I’m talking about hot dogs and chili, hot dogs and chili.”
“@ZachLaneBryan you can climb the fence all you want. You’re not going to get my chili dog,” Gilbert wrote in the caption, referencing a video of Bryan climbing the fence after arguing with fellow country singer Gavin Adcock.
“Best song I ever heard from that guy,” Aldean joked in the comments, referring to Brian’s parody.
The online exchange occurred after Bad Bunny took to the stage at Super Bowl LX. Brian initially criticized TPUSA’s halftime show on Instagram.
“What Kid Rock is actually thinking about is what’s happening all over America,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, according to Whiskey Riff.
The video showed Brian’s friend watching the TPUSA show on his cell phone, ignoring the Bad Bunny-led performance playing on the TV in the background.
He shared the following message he received from a follower: “What can happen? Boy, you sold out to a Hollywood movie in no time. You were my favorite artist. Now you’re just an idiot and an out-of-touch elitist. It happens real quick.”
Brian wrote, “I don’t care what side you’re on. A bunch of adults throwing tantrums and having their own halftime show is the most embarrassing and disgusting thing on the planet.”
The show, starring Gilbert, Kid Rock, Lee Bryce and Gabby Barrett, was streamed on YouTube at the same time as Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Fans were quick to criticize Bryan’s comments.
“Where did your patriotism go?” one fan wrote on Instagram.
“Look who wasn’t invited to the Super Bowl or Turning Point halftime show,” another commented.
Another added: “LOL, get over your jealousy of Kid Rock by getting annoyed with Zack again for throwing a tantrum! LOL! Your career is over lol.”
