The ‘John Wick’ video game is in development by Saber Interactive and Lionsgate, with star Keanu Reeves reprising his role in the single-player third-person action title.
Described as a AAA video game “tailored for a mature audience,” the title is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC with John Wick director Chad Stahelski and Reeves on board.
The untitled “John Wick” game will combine John Wick’s “unparalleled, adrenaline-pumping ‘gun-fu’ combat style with Saber’s proven reputation for creating thrilling gaming experiences that leave players wanting more.”
The game “features an original gameplay story set in the John Wick timeline many years before The Impossible Task. It expands on the franchise’s legend from that era with familiar characters that fans already know and love, as well as compelling new characters created specifically for this work.”
“We can’t wait for fans to step into John Wick’s shoes and explore the multidimensional world of The High Table,” said Jenefer Brown, president of Global Products and Experiences at Lionsgate. “We are working closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and cinematic authenticity.”
“John Wick is one of the most iconic characters in action movie history,” said Matthew Kirch, CEO of Saber Interactive. “Saber is honored to work in true collaboration with Chad, Keanu and the Lionsgate team to bring Wick’s world to life in a AAA game.”
