Dorinda Medley is here to help!
The Ladies of Bluestone Manor will be joining E!’s reboot of The Real Housewives of New York, Page Six has learned.
The news comes after cast member Jill Zarin was removed from the project before cameras began monitoring her remarks about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.
As reported by Page Six, E! is producing a new show called “The Golden Life” featuring the original cast of “RHONY,” which was slated to feature Zarin, Sonya Morgan, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer.
Sources say Medley, who starred in six seasons of the show, has also been expected to appear on the show for a long time.
I’m told the network planned to announce her role closer to the premiere in order to give the show a little more time to promote it.
But at the end of the day, it’s nice to have a spare cast member on your side.
On Tuesday, E! The company announced it would fire Zarin after he complained online that there were “literally no white people” at his Super Bowl performance.
On Sunday night, Zarin posted a video online saying, “We all agree, it was the worst halftime show of all time. We’re celebrating our 250th anniversary in the United States, and I don’t think it’s appropriate to do it in Spanish.”
She added that the performance “looked like a political statement because there were literally no white people in the whole thing.”
On Tuesday, Variety reported that E!, the network that was scheduled to air “The Golden Age,” fired her from the show.
“In light of recent public comments by Jill Zarin,[production company]Blink 49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Age. We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company’s standards and values,” producers told Variety.
In charge of E! Didn’t comment. I haven’t heard from Medley.
