“Heated Rivalry” continues to grow in viewership more than a month after its first season ended.
To date, “Heated Rivals” has averaged 10.6 million viewers per episode in the U.S., according to Warner Bros. Discovery. The series, produced by Canadian streaming service Crave and streamed in the U.S. on WBD-owned HBO Max, became a viral sensation upon its November premiere, with each episode drawing more viewers than the previous one. The finale, released on December 26th, saw an increase of more than 300% in viewership compared to its premiere week.
WBD also boasts that viewership for the series has more than doubled since its final episode, making it the most-watched scripted title from another platform in HBO Max history.
The TV show’s logline reads, “Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Story) are two of Major League Hockey’s biggest stars, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic force neither of them fully understands. What begins as a secret?” A romance between the newcomers develops into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery. For the next eight years, as they pursue glory on the ice, they are torn between the sport they live in and a love they cannot ignore, and must decide whether their competitive world has room for something as fragile and powerful as real love. ” The cast also includes Francois Arnault, Robbie GK, Christina Cheung, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nellis, and Ksenia Daniela Karlamova.
