As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to take on the New England Patriots in the 2026 Super Bowl, the world is watching not just the team’s quarterback, Sam Darnold, but also the main character in his life, Katie Hoefnagle.
On January 25th, Hoefnagl made headlines when he shared a celebratory kiss with his girlfriend on the football field after his team played the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.
NFL cameras at the game captured a sweet moment in which Hofnagle showed his love for the football star.
“I love you,” Hoofnagle gushed before wooing his fiancée. “I’m so proud of you. Hey, you did it!”

Hofnagle and Darnold announced their relationship on Instagram in April 2023.
“Little happy moments 🌞💐🥂🌊,” Hofnagle captioned an Instagram carousel that included images of Darnold’s bouquet of flowers and a selfie from their date night.
After that, Hoefnagle began posting photos from the sideline of Darnold’s games.
In February 2025, the couple made their red carpet debut at the 2025 NFL Honors. The photo showed Hofnagl complimenting her beau’s classic black suit with a sparkling silver dress.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2020 with a major in marketing and a minor in nutrition, Ms. Hoefnagle moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Before moving to Seattle, she was a mortgage loan officer at Loan Pronto in Charlotte.
According to LinkedIn, Hofnagl has been employed by technology company Renvio as an account manager since October 2024. The company focuses on dialysis machine software that helps kidney patients.

Darnold rarely spoke publicly about his relationships. However, he previously spoke glowingly about his then-girlfriend and the “incredible” support he receives from her in a March 2025 interview with Us Weekly.
“She understands that. She’s a former athlete herself and has a hard time with everything. She’s so happy when I just want to relax, especially during the season,” he said at the time.
He went on to tell the outlet that Hoefnagl was helping him get out of the house during the offseason.
“If she wants to go somewhere and I just want to relax, she’ll say, ‘Let’s go out to dinner. We need to go out to dinner.’
“She’s amazing. She’s always been my biggest supporter. And I love her, and I’m always grateful to her,” he continued.
