The singer was absent from last weekend’s Grammy Awards.
Selena Gomez was photographed heading to Brooks Nader’s birthday party in West Hollywood on Saturday. At the celebrity-studded event, Gomez wore an all-black Matrix-inspired ensemble. With her hair slicked back, the ‘The Only Murder in the Building’ star wore a large black leather coat with a belt around her waist and flared black leggings.
For accessories, the I Said I Love You First singer carried a leather handbag and wore chunky gold hoop earrings and small oval sunglasses. She also had red nail polish for added color, as well as deep pink lips. Her feet wore pointy-toed heels.
Last weekend, Gomez skipped the 2026 Grammy Awards despite being nominated for Best Dance-Pop Recording with husband Benny Blanco for “Bluest Flame.” This category was announced during the pre-show, but neither was in attendance.
Blanco attended the Grammys afterparty at Bar Marmont hosted by W Magazine, Charli XCX and Saint Laurent, along with Rosé, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gomez’s ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Gomez did not appear at any of the afterparty events.
The two were last seen together at the Golden Globe Awards in January.
In November, Gomez spoke about prioritizing her acting career over music in an interview with Apple Music.
“I think what you get from film or television or any kind of performative creativity that isn’t really music is a different feeling that can’t be explained other than a connection to the characters,” she explained. “I empathize with the character’s pain, I empathize with the character’s joy and their relationships, their mothers and fathers. And all of that is so interesting to me, being able to jump into other people’s worlds. But when you put yourself out there and it’s just you, it can be a little scary. And I think I was a little tired of that.”
