Jessica Simpson’s son Ace is growing up before our eyes.
The Dukes of Hazzard actress, 45, showed off her son’s big growth spurt in an adorable snap she shared to her Instagram Stories on Thursday.
“My 12-year-old Ace is so much taller than his mom,” she wrote on the photo, which showed the preteen Ace towering over her mom.
The photo, which appeared to have been taken after her son’s sporting event, showed the son, wearing a Sierra Canyon school jersey and shorts, gently kissing his mother on the head for the camera.
She added Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me” to play in the background of the post.
“Fun fact…he was born for this song,” Simpson added.
In addition to Ace, Ms Simpson is also a mother to daughters Maxwell, 13, and Birdie, six. She has three children with her estranged husband Eric Johnson.
The former couple announced their split in January last year after 10 years of marriage, after months of speculation that they had split.
However, they were reportedly able to quickly find a co-parenting schedule that was comfortable for their children, according to sources.
“The kids always come first,” a source told People magazine at the time. “They co-parent.”
Despite their breakup, the “Charming” singer has reunited with her estranged husband, 46, on several occasions. In August, the pair were spotted supporting Jessica’s younger sister Ashley at her Las Vegas destination.
During the holiday season, Simpson revealed that she spent Thanksgiving with the former NFL star in November, marking her first Thanksgiving since announcing their split.
“Yesterday we were together at my mom’s house,” she told TMZ, adding that Johnson is “the father of my kids.”
“Family comes first,” she concluded.
