Robert Cosby Jr., the son of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby, has been released from the Salt Lake County Metro Jail after serving two months in prison.
Robert Jr.’s attorney, Clayton Sims, exclusively told Page Six that the reality star was released on Tuesday and considers his time in prison a “blessing.”
“It’s helped him sober up and start thinking clearly. He’s looking forward to doing something positive. The problem was he was slow to recognize the dissolution of the marriage, but now he understands it’s over and has moved on,” Sims said.
As part of his release, Robert Jr. was ordered to serve 24 months of probation and 75 hours of community service, and is expected to attend anger management and substance abuse classes.
The judge also granted a permanent no-contact order against Robert Jr.’s ex-wife Alexiana Smokov, who filed for divorce on November 24, 2025 after three years of marriage.
The 23-year-old, who has publicly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction, was arrested on Nov. 9, 2025, after his involvement in an incident involving Smokov and his stepfather, Shad Stork.
He was charged with violating a pretrial protection order, trespassing, criminal damage or destruction of property, assault on a uniformed peace officer or military member, and failure to comply with orders of law enforcement.
In December 2025, he pleaded guilty to eight charges. One count of Felony Damage or Destruction of Property Over $5,000. Two counts of violating a pretrial protection order obtained by Smokov. one count of assault on a peace officer; One count of violation of court order for release from prison. two counts of unlawful entry into a dwelling with intent to cause nuisance, injury or fear; and one count of Class B misdemeanor assault.
He also faced six misdemeanor counts, which were dismissed with prejudice.
At the time, Robert Jr.’s attorney told People that his client’s legal troubles stemmed from his difficulty accepting that his marriage to Smokov was over.
“They are his role models and they have been married for 27 years,” Mary’s lawyer said, referring to her marriage to Robert Sr., a bishop at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
“Robert was slow to recognize and accept that his marriage was over and continued his relationship with his soon-to-be ex-wife. Robert accepted responsibility for his mistakes and pled guilty to several misdemeanors,” Sims continued.
Prior to his arrest in November, Robert Jr. had been arrested in September last year for allegedly trying to enter his stepfather’s home through a dog door.
He also reportedly assaulted someone on the front lawn and failed to comply with police response.
