Charli XCX made a stunning appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Wuthering Heights on Wednesday in a custom Vivienne Westwood look. The singer-songwriter, who created original music for the film, walked the red carpet in a corseted gold dress with a cinched bodice and a rounded skirt that flared outward at the waist.
The gown features layers of sheer fabric, with a torso-shaping corset visible underneath.
Styled by Chris Horan, Charlie kept her accessories to a minimum. She wore antique diamond jewelry by Darius Jewels, including a fine gold chain with a small pendant and several rings. Her shoes (custom made by Christian Louboutin) were mostly hidden under the volume of her skirt.
On the red carpet, Charlie spoke to Deadline about what drew him to composing film scores. “For me, what really drew me to this project in particular is, first of all, I love the idea of twisting a classic,” she said. “When I heard that Emerald (Fennell) was adapting ‘Wuthering Heights,’ I just thought, ‘Wow, this could be it for me.'”
She added, “I think whatever creative path I take, what I want to do is just give it my all, go all the way, and do it my way.”
It’s already been a busy year for Charlie. Earlier this month, she made her Golden Globes debut as a presenter wearing a custom Saint Laurent design also styled by Horan. Her movie “The Moment” will be released tomorrow.
