Allegra Edwards has been cast as the lead in the CBS comedy pilot “Eternally Yours.”
Edwards will appear in the pilot alongside previously announced cast members Ed Weeks and Jalen Lewison. The single-camera show was to be piloted on the network in July, but CBS had originally opened a development room for the show in mid-2024. The show hails from Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who developed the hit CBS comedy series “Ghost.”
The official Eternally Yours logline describes the pilot as “an eternal love story about two vampires (Edwards, Weeks) who have been married for 500 years and their struggle to accept the human (Lewison) who is dating their daughter.”
Edwards’ character Liz goes on to say, “Since 1526 A.D., she has been a wife, a mother, a history professor…and a vampire. Once a romance-novel love, Liz and Charles are now stuck in a fifth-century mundane, endless marriage. Unlike her husband, who is set in his ways, Liz wants to grow and change with the times, and will do whatever it takes to drag Charlie’s into the 21st century.”
The role reunites Edwards with Port and Wiseman. She previously appeared in several episodes of Ghost as Donna, a ghost at a Caribbean resort who becomes the love interest of Pete (Richie Moriarty). She is known for her roles on the shows “Upload” and “Briarpatch,” as well as appearances on shows such as the “King of the Hill” revival, “Orange is the New Black,” “New Girl,” and “Modern Family.”
She is repped by Innovative Artists Entertainment and OPE Partners.
Port and Wiseman serve as writers and executive producers on “Eternally Yours.” Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Jason Wang also serve as executive producers. Produced by CBS Studios.
