Ryan Reynolds isn’t apologizing for attacking Justin Baldoni in unsealed texts.
As Baldoni’s legal battle with the actor’s wife Blake Lively intensifies, his representative came to his defense, pointing out that Reynolds was defending Lively after his emails were exposed.
“Yes, Ryan was involved. What husband wouldn’t support his wife and the mother of his children?” Reynolds’ rep told Pac News in response to an article titled “Is Blake Really Unemployable — and Will Ryan Get Out of the Blast Radius?”
“He watched his wife fight every day to confront sexual harassment privately and respectfully, only to be met with retaliation for doing so,” the statement continued. “If anything, I feel like Ryan wasn’t angry enough.”
His attorney concluded: “He passionately believes in the fundamental right to a safe workplace, free from harassment and retaliation against his wife and others, and he is and will continue to stand up for it.”
Reynolds’ unsealed texts included an August 2024 text exchange with talent agent Warren Zavala in which the “Deadpool” star brought up Johnny Depp’s infamous defamation court battle with Amber Heard.
“I hope this fraud by Weasel is exposed. I just want to protect our negative side. It’s all about the movie doing well. Let’s see if the noise quiets down,” Zabala allegedly wrote of Baldoni in a document obtained by TMZ.
“This is all spin. I think we flamed it out,” Zavala wrote, along with a link to media reports that the stars of “Owari no Seraph” were fighting over the final cut of the film.
Reynolds then replied, “How was it for Depp?”
Zavala wrote that “in the end, we both fell out” over the incident, before slamming Baldoni as a “selfish weasel with a god complex,” and Reynolds reportedly labeling Baldoni a “human rounding error.”
More documents released in July 2024 included Reynolds, 49, allegedly calling Baldoni, 42, a “thoroughbred, predatory fraudster” and “an incomprehensible, noxious disruptor.”
Despite all the drama, Baldoni was spotted celebrating his birthday in good spirits while surfing in Costa Rica on Sunday.
In photos obtained by Page Six, Baldoni can be seen smiling and laughing with his wife, Emily, and their two children, Mya Grace, 10, and Maxwell Roland-Samuel, 8.
Lively, 38, accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her on the set of It Ends with Us in December 2024, a charge Baldoni has repeatedly denied.
