Regina Hall is set to star opposite Adam Driver in Netflix’s upcoming series Rabbit Rabbit, Variety has confirmed.
The project was originally announced in October and was decided to become a series. The show’s logline reads, “An escaped inmate is cornered by law enforcement officers at a truck stop and takes hostages in an effort to win his freedom. But the conflict quickly escalates into an unruly social experiment with his captors and an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI crisis negotiator trained in ‘tactical empathy.'”
Hall is coming off a role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-nominated film One Battle After Another. She is also known for her work in the Scary Movie series, returning in the Wayans brothers’ sixth film, and has also had roles in films such as Girls Trip, Jesus Save My Soul, The Best Man series, and Think Like a Man and its sequels. On television, she recently appeared on Peacock’s Showtime series “Black Monday” and “The Best Man: The Final Chapter.” She previously appeared on shows such as “Ally McBeal” and “Insecure.”
She is represented by IAG.
Peter Craig created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. In addition to starring, Driver will also serve as executive producer. Philippe Barantini will direct and executive produce through his It’s All Made Up Productions. It’s All Made Up’s Samantha Beddoe will also serve as executive producer on his and Craig’s Night Owl Stories banner, along with Brian Unkeless. MRC is a studio.
Deadline first reported Hall’s casting.
