Oscar-nominated artisans EJAE (“KPop Demon Hunter”), Jack Fisk (“Marty Supreme”) and Alexandre Desplat (“Frankenstein”) are among the winners honored at Variety’s Artisan Awards.
Variety’s 12th Annual Artisans Awards will be held at the Arlington Theater on February 7th during the Santa Barbara Film Festival.
The Artisans Awards in Santa Barbara celebrates the artisans behind this year’s biggest films. The evening will consist of one-on-one conversations followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Variety’s senior journeyman editor Jazz Tankay.
Variety continues to elevate artisans in its coverage, and this night will celebrate artisans across cinematography, costume design, editing, makeup, production design, sound editing and mixing, visual effects, and more.
“This evening is a celebration of what makes filmmaking so powerful. Movies are, above all, a collective art form shaped by many artists with a shared vision. The remarkable artists we celebrate this evening represent the best of cinema this year, and we are proud of our continued partnership with Variety to make this special night possible,” said festival director Roger Darling.
This year is a special year for movies, movie fans, and movie lovers. She continued, “We are grateful to Roger for this collaboration for bringing together this amazing group of artisans.
