Netflix has released first look images from the set of The Fifth Wheel, the upcoming Eva Longoria-directed female-led comedy starring Kim Kardashian and Nikki Glazer.
The film, written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, follows a group of high school best friends who “try to reunite during a weekend trip to Las Vegas,” according to the official logline. But when a “hot outsider” (the titular fifth wheel, played by Kardashian, of course) crashes over the weekend, “they are forced to confront their messy lives, bad decisions, and crumbling friendships.”
The Fifth Wheel will be Longoria’s second time directing a feature film, and his first for Netflix. The “Desperate Housewives” star directed “Flamin’ Hot,” which debuted on Hulu and Disney+ in 2023 and chronicled the making of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. In addition to Kardashian and Glazer, Fortune Feimster, Brenda Song, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson, and Scott MacArthur round out the cast.
The comedy is Kardashian’s latest foray into acting. The reality star previously played Allura Grant in Hulu’s legal drama “All’s Fair” and played celebrity publicist Siobhan Corbin alongside Emma Roberts in “American Horror Story” season 12. Back in June 2025, Variety reported that the multi-hyphenate would also star as the villain in the Amazon MGM film Bratz. “The Fifth Wheel” is Kardashian’s first leading role and her first collaboration with Netflix.
The comedy joins recent productions that Netflix has shot in Los Angeles, including Ben Affleck’s Animals, Lee Sung Jin’s Beef Season 2, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster Season 4, Mindy Kaling’s Running Point Season 2, Star Search, and Nobody Wants This Season 2.
The film was produced by Pell, Kardashian, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, Gloria Sanchez’s Alex Brown, and Chris Abrego and Longoria’s Hyphenate Media Group. Mary Bundy and David Heyman will serve as executive producers. The release date has not yet been announced.
