The series presents “a faithful dramatization of Genesis, told through the eyes of brave, passionate, but flawed women who will shape the future of the faith as we know it today.” The episodes of “The Faithful” are told through the perspectives of five central female characters from the Old Testament. Sarah (Minnie Driver) and her servant Hagar (Natacha Cullum), Sarah’s great-niece Rebecca (Alexa Davalos), and Rebecca’s nieces Sisters Leah (Millie Brady) and Rachel (Blue Hunt).
The show depicts the interwoven stories of five women. Sarah, who marries Abraham (Jeffrey Donovan) and wants children, makes a complicated decision involving Hagar that changes the course of her family forever. To protect the fate of her beloved son, Rebecca intervenes in the children’s lives, sparking a legendary sibling conflict. Leah and Rachel, once inseparable sisters, become rivals in both love and motherhood.
The Faithful is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and distributed worldwide by FOX Entertainment Global. Carol Mendelsohn (CSI) will serve as executive producer, with Julie Weitz (Game of Silence) and Rene Echevarria (Carnival Row, The 4400) writing the pilot and serving as showrunners.
