Beta Cinema has joined as the sales agent for director Adrian Goiginger’s Four Minus Three, which will have its world premiere in the Panorama section of this year’s Berlinale. The trailer premieres here.
“Four Minus Three” stars Valerie Pachner, Robert Stadlob, Stephanie Reinsperger, Hanno Koffler and Ronald Zehrfeld.
Inspired by a true story, the film centers on Barbara, a professional clown, and her partner Heli, as they laugh at things that go wrong and realize their dreams of a different life filled with happiness with their two children. However, a tragic car accident takes away the helicopter and the children, leaving Barbara alone. In the face of indescribable loss, her faith in humor, hope, and humanity are put to the ultimate test.
The film is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Barbara Pakul-Eberhart. The script was written by Senad Halilbašić.
“Four Minus Three” is produced by Peter Wildling, Gerrit Klein, Martin Pfeil, David Stellinger, and Goiginger. The production companies are Austria’s 2010 Entertainment and Germany’s Giganten Film. The German distributor is Alamode Film and the Austrian distributor is Polyfilm.
Goiginger’s debut feature The Best of All Worlds (2017) won over 100 international awards, including the Compass Perspective Award at the Berlinale, Best European First Film Award at Zlín, Best Feature Award at the New York City Film Festival, the Bavarian Film Award, Best Actress Award at Milan, Huisten, Haarlem and Moscow, and five Austrian Film Awards.
His feature film “The Fox” (2022) won two German Film Awards and two Austrian Film Awards. The film was sold in over 20 territories and was a box office hit in Austria. Subsequent films included Rikkerl – Music is a Hobby (2024) and Märzengrund (2022).
