Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made a surprise appearance at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, days after Prince Harry gave tearful testimony in a British tabloid trial.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the premiere of their latest documentary, Cookie Queens, at Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater on Saturday.
The couple posed for photos with actress Amy Redford, festival director Eugene Hernandez and documentary director Alisa Nahmias.
Harry was dressed casually for the outing, wearing a down jacket, green pants and brown boots.
Markle looked chic in a black knit sweater and black flared mother denim jeans. She wore her dark hair straight in a middle part.
Markle, 44, and Harry, 41, will serve as executive producers on the upcoming film, which follows the lives of four Girl Scouts during cookie season.
The film is poignant for the mother of two, who grew up as a Girl Scout in California, where her mother, Doria Ragland, served as Markle’s troop leader.
The “Suits” alum also took time to meet with the Girl Scouts featured in the doc. At one point, Markle hugged the girls and spoke with them and their parents.
The Sussexes’ outing comes just days after Prince Harry took the stand at London’s High Court to give emotional evidence in his trial against the British tabloid publisher.
On Wednesday, the Invitas Games founder claimed his wife’s life as a royal had been an “utter disaster” due to the allegedly intrusive reporting.
“All we wanted was an apology and accountability, and to have to go through something like this again is fundamentally wrong. It’s a terrible experience,” the father of two testified, fighting back tears.
“They still come after me. They have made my wife’s life absolutely miserable, Lord,” he added.
Following Prince Harry’s testimony, a representative for Prince Harry told Page Six: “Today’s cross-examination revealed a weakness in Prince Harry’s tone: a strong tone that could easily crumble under Prince Harry’s watch.”
“The associates couldn’t wait to get him off the stand, interrogated him for only two hours, and completely avoided 10 of his 14 articles.”
In a short statement to us, the authors of “The Spare” added, “Today we reminded our email group of who is on trial for whom and why.”
Prince Harry and Markle left the royal family in 2020 and moved to North America. The couple currently live in a $14 million home in Montecito, California, with their children Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
