Harry Styles’ mindset isn’t the same as before.
The pop star’s latest song, “Aperture,” features upbeat lyrics about embracing new, “safe” love and connection.
The song, released Friday, is the first single from the Grammy winner’s upcoming album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, and is centered around “let(ting) the light in.”
According to Merriam-Webster, an aperture in particular is “the opening in a photographic lens that allows light to pass through.”
In the chorus, Styles repeats, “We belong together/At last it’s only love.”
The former One Direction member, 31, continued on the bridge to sing, “I won’t stray from it/I don’t know these spaces/Time won’t wait for me/I want to know what safety is.”
It is unclear whether the song provides insight into his current relationship with Zoe Kravitz, and was likely written before the pair were first spotted together in August 2025.
But Styles seemed to nod to the romance on Thursday while speaking to BBC Radio 1 listeners about the inspiration for ‘Aperture’.
“There were a lot of big realizations,” he explained. “I’ve become more open to the world overall and I’ve been able to bring more positivity into my life.”
Kravitz, 37, could be heard laughing in the background of the same interview as Styles talked about the album’s title, which he called “Mantra for Life.”
The ‘X Factor’ alum said: “It’s unhealthy to be doing disco all the time, so living life with love and taking a break and having fun every once in a while is a really good way to approach life. I feel like I’ve been doing that for the past few years and it’s made a positive change in my life.”
“Maybe we can stop[the kiss]and go eat or something. It’s definitely going to be a long lunch break, but we’ll be right back to normal,” Styles joked.
Speculation that Styles would release new music for the first time in four years began earlier this month when fans noticed cryptic clues about the songwriter, and he confirmed the rumors last week by announcing the album on Instagram.
Page Six recently reported that Styles has secured a second residency at Madison Square Garden, with news breaking Thursday that he will play 30 shows in the Big Apple from August to October.
Zoe hasn’t publicly responded to her partner’s new music, but when Styles shared news of his fourth record, her father Lenny Kravitz commented with a heart emoji.
We hear that the actress has been dating Styles since last summer and considers him her “soulmate.”
A source said the relationship is “different” from how Zoe felt with ex-husband Karl Glusman and ex-fiancé Channing Tatum.
Styles has been romantically linked to Lost in Space alum Taylor Russell and musician Olivia Deen in recent years.
Two months before his split from Zoe, Styles kissed a woman named Ella Kenny on the dance floor at Glastonbury Festival, but their “good time” didn’t “devolve into anything”.
