The haters’ lips are moving, but Meghan Trainor doesn’t care.
The singer hit back at those who criticized her “legitimate” choice to welcome her third child, daughter Mikey, through a surrogate over the weekend.
“Surrogacy is one of the beautiful ways to start a family,” the Grammy winner, 32, told People magazine on Wednesday. “It’s not something to whisper about or judge.”
She further added, “It’s rooted in trust, science, love, and teamwork. Every family’s journey looks different, but they’re all very valid.”
The pop star, who was accused of using a gestational carrier, was not the “first choice” for her and husband Daryl Sabara, who are also parents to sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2.
“During this journey, we had many discussions with our doctors and this was the safest way for us to continue to grow our family,” the “eternally grateful” songwriter told the outlet.
Trainor went on to thank his “selfless, strong and loving” agent.
“Throughout our journey, we felt so connected. I will always be grateful for the care and love my daughter showed me. She gave us the greatest gift of life. She graciously answered our multiple check-in messages to make sure she was okay,” she exclaimed.
On Tuesday, the “Beauty” star posted a hospital photo with her new family via Instagram.
“January 18, 2026. Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor is finally here, thanks to our incredible superwoman surrogate mother,” she wrote, extolling how “overjoyed” her sons are for their “precious” little sister.
“Riley and Barry were so excited they even got to choose her middle name,” Trainor explained. “We’re going to enjoy some family time now, we love you all 🩷🥹🎀”
Trainor, 33, and Sabara became parents in February 2021 when Riley arrived, followed by Barry in July 2023.
The actress had a “horrifying” first birth and wrote in her 2023 book Dear Mama that she suffered from PTSD after having a C-section.
Traynor developed gestational diabetes while pregnant with her second child, which sparked her recent weight loss journey.
To lose weight, Trainor explained on Instagram in April 2025 that she “worked with a nutritionist, made major lifestyle changes, started working out with a trainer, and used science and support (thanks Munjaro!).”
Later that month, Sabara admitted that he too was taking weight loss pills because the couple “does everything together.”
The pair, who are notorious for going to the bathroom next to each other, started dating in 2016, got engaged the following year, and married in 2018.
