Chris Noth has revealed that he and Sarah Jessica Parker are no longer friends due to the actress’ response to multiple sexual assault allegations brought against her in 2021.
The 71-year-old actor appeared on the podcast “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson” and claimed that his former “Sex and the City” co-star never contacted him to get his side of the story before issuing a public statement in support of his accusers.
Noss was accused of sexual assault by three women in 2021, but he denied the allegations.
In a joint statement at the time, Parker and fellow SATC stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of the allegations against Chris Noth. We stand with the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know this is an extremely difficult thing to do, and we commend them for their work.”
North called the statement “disappointing” and said it was “clear” he and Parker were no longer friends.
“The statement they put out was really nothing more than brand management, but I don’t know. It was sad and disappointing and surprising,” North said in a preview of the podcast episode obtained by People magazine. “Because you need to call me and get my opinion. You’ve known me for years, and we’ve worked (together) for years.”
After starring in all six seasons of Sex and the City and two subsequent films in the series, North returned in 2021 for the sequel series, And Just Like That. However, his character Mr. Big was killed off in the series premiere.
“I get that, but that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood,” he continued. “But before you make a statement like that, you know me, you’ve known me for years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop on this. And that didn’t happen, and it was too bad.”
North said the situation showed him who his real friends are.
“All I know is that if it had been the other way, I wouldn’t have done it,” he said, noting that he “definitely” would have called Parker if the positions had been reversed.
“It hurt and it really affected everything,” he added.
Parker did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
North sparked an uproar among “SATC” fans earlier this month when he publicly criticized Parker, 60. The actor posted a photo of himself at the gym and captioned it, “F&@k New Year – Let’s go!!!!”
“You mean SJP and her award, right? (lol),” one fan asked, referring to Parker winning the 2026 Carol Burnett Award two days earlier. North responded, “That’s right.”
However, he later retracted the insult, writing on Instagram: “Apparently an off-the-cuff, slightly sarcastic response to a comment on the internet suddenly sparked an uproar. That’s not news.”
Fast forward to 2023, and Noss once again denied the sexual assault charges, but admitted to cheating on his wife, Tara Wilson.
He and Wilson have been married since April 2012 and have two sons, Orion, 18, and Keats, 5.
North maintained that the sexual contact outside of marriage was consensual.
“I let my wife go astray. It was traumatic for her and it wasn’t very pretty,” he told USA Today. “Anything else is a crime.”
