Taylor Swift allegedly called Justin Baldoni a “bitch” in a text message to Blake Lively.

Ms. Lively’s attorneys filed a letter with Judge Lewis J. Lehman on Tuesday, January 20, responding to a motion for summary judgment by Ms. Baldoni’s attorneys as the case approaches a May trial.

The filing quotes some text messages between Swift, 36, and Lively, 38, showing how the friends discussed Baldoni, 41.

In early December 2024, Swift allegedly wrote, “I think this woman knows something is going to happen because she pulled out a little violin.” Lively’s lawyers do not dispute that “the quoted language is in the cited source,” but say it “does not support the defendant’s contention” that Lively and Swift “discussed privately the upcoming New York Times article, published on Dec. 21,” which broke the news of the legal battle. 2024.

In a separate message, Baldoni’s legal team asked Swift, who was reportedly already on her way to visit a friend, to support Lively’s proposed revised version of the script “without having to read it,” Baldoni’s legal team alleges.

Swift reportedly replied, “I’d do anything for you!!” Lively’s lawyers countered that Swift “agreed to comply with Lively’s orders,” “met with Baldoni,” and “or supported the draft amendment.”

“Lively respectfully refers the cited sources to the court for their complete content and challenges any inconsistent summaries or interpretations,” Lively’s legal team said in a statement.

Lively then reportedly wrote a letter to the singer saying, “Today was so heroic,” and that her husband Ryan Reynolds “summed up every moment.”

Lively reportedly wrote to Swift, “You were remembering all the crazy things about me and lenses, and calling yourself my doll. This clown was into it all, but he also resisted it. You are the absolute best friend in the world.”

Sources previously told PEOPLE that their friendship was complicated during Lively’s legal battle with Baldoni, who accused him of sexual harassment and retaliation, claims he denies.

In Lively’s alleged texts to Baldoni shown in a January 2025 countersuit against Lively and Reynolds (which was later dismissed by a judge), the actress calls her husband and Swift “dragons” defending her and quotes Game of Thrones.

“I happen to have a few dragons. For better or for worse, they usually get better,” Lively reportedly wrote. “Because my dragons also protect those who fight for me. So really we all benefit from these gorgeous monsters of mine. (smiley face emoji) You will too, I can promise you.”

When Baldoni’s lawyers attempted to subpoena Swift in May 2025, her representatives spoke out in a statement, banning the pop star from It Ends With Us.

A spokesperson for Swift said at the time: “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this film. She had no involvement in any of the casting or creative decisions, did not score the film, saw the edit or wrote notes on the film. She did not see ‘It Ends with Us’ until weeks after its release, and was traveling the world in 2023 and 2024 as headlining the biggest tour in history.”

A representative added, “Due to Taylor’s connection to the film, permission was granted to use one song, “My Tears Ricochet.” Given that her involvement was in licensing music for the film, as well as 19 other artists, this document subpoena is aimed at leveraging Taylor Swift’s name to gain public attention by creating tabloid clickbait rather than focusing on the facts of the case. ”

Baldoni’s attorney Brian Friedman told TMZ in June 2025 that Baldoni “wants to be acquitted and that’s all he cares about.” He added at the time: “He knows who he is. He knows what he has done and what he has not done. And he wants the truth to come out and he wants to do it the right way.”
