Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, announced that they are expecting their fourth child.
“We are so happy to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the couple jointly posted on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Usha and the baby are doing well. We are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”
JD, 41, and Usha, 40, expressed their gratitude to the “military doctors who take such good care of (their) family.”
They also thanked the staff for helping them “serve our country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children.”
The politician and the second lady married in 2014 and are parents to three children, Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5, and Mirabel, 4.
Although JD tends to keep details of his family life private, he spoke candidly about his interfaith marriage and raising children in a November interview with FOX.
“Yes, my wife was not raised as a Christian,” he said. “I think it’s fair to say she grew up in a Hindu family, but not a particularly religious one.”
Coincidentally, they were both non-religious when they first met at Yale Law School in the early 2010s.
“Actually, when I met my wife, we both were. I considered myself an agnostic or an atheist, and I think she considered herself the same way,” JD told the outlet.
The author of ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ explained that after a frank discussion with Usha, they decided to raise their children as Christians.
Meanwhile, JD and Usha shunned breakup rumors after the latter was spotted without her wedding ring in November.
At the time, Usha was photographed speaking at Camp Lejeune Military Training Facility in North Carolina.
However, Usha’s spokesperson told People that she simply forgot to wear her diamond ring that morning.
“(Usha) is a mother of three young children who cooks a lot and gives them many baths, but sometimes she forgets her ring,” the representative said.
