What you need to know
Fatherhood will always be one of A$AP Rocky’s favorite topics.
On a new episode of The New York Times Popcast, the 37-year-old “Helicopter” rapper, who shares three children with Rihanna, spoke about the differences he’s starting to see between his young children.
“You know, my oldest son, RZA, is really kind of the opposite. He’s a 3-year-old and a 2-year-old brother. They’re about 14 months apart. I mean, they’re really close, but he’s really antisocial,” he said in a Jan. 16 interview.

The A$AP Rocky and Fenty Beauty mogul, also 37, are mom and dad to sons RZA, 3 1/2, and Riot, 2, and daughter Rocky, who was born in September 2025.
“And my younger son is just a socialite at this point, you know? He comes into the room and tries to steal, and he walks in it, and he’s into cotton candy, and… he likes… typical little kid stuff,” he said of Riot.
The Tallest and Lowest actor added, “My eldest son has never eaten candy a day in his life and he hates it.”
Hosts John Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli joked that A$AP Rocky has a “monk” toddler and a “rock star” toddler, then moved on to talk about a baby girl.
“Baby, Rocky, she’s what, you know, four months old. She’ll be four months old in 13 days,” the “Praise the Lord” rapper said of her youngest child.
“And she looks exactly like me. She’s my twin, brother,” he said proudly.
Before her arrival, he recalled thinking his life with his “two sons” was “bright” and joked that the three were their very own “man-woman-hating club.”
“Yeah, come on, let’s go. I’m with the little villains, dude,” he said, with a nod to the 1994 film. “Then baby Rocky came along and took over the whole family.”
A$AP Rocky said the infant was “very talkative at four months old.” She also “likes to giggle.”
When I asked who in my family were the “loose” and “strict” parents, the answer was simple.

“None of us have to be that way. We’re chill parents,” said A$AP Rocky, who still feels “relatively young.”
She also talked about raising her children to follow her own path, saying that although she is a vegetarian, she allows her children to be “carnivores.”
“They eat whatever they want. I have to let them be themselves,” he said.

Continuing to discuss their future together, A$AP Rocky said he is looking forward to being a father who teaches his sons “how to throw a football and throw a slapbox at each other without hurting each other.”
“I always said to myself, ‘Oh, if I become a father, I’ll be the coolest dad ever.’ And I think that’s what made me cooler,” he said. “My swag is complete, brother.”
A$AP Rocky’s fourth studio album, Don’t Be Damn, was released on January 16th.
