Molly Rogers, the costume designer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, will receive the Series Fest Costume Design Excellence Award.
Rogers, who also worked on HBO Max’s “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That,” will receive the award on March 7 during the 12th annual Series Fest. The event, which marks 20 years of collaboration with Matthew Morris Salon, will celebrate Rogers’ career.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by SeriesFest,” said Rogers. “When we started working on Sex and the City in 1998, we had no idea how audiences would react to the costume designs. It’s been great to see the fan base for these characters and their fashion over the years.”
Rogers began working in the costume department for “Sex and the City” and the two subsequent films when Patricia Field was heading up the style for the series. In the reboot, Rogers collaborated with Danny Santiago. Together, they brought luxury classics like Dior and Chanel back into Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) wardrobe. At the same time, we collaborated with new designers on social media and around the world.
SeriesFest CEO and co-founder Randy Kleiner added, “We are thrilled to celebrate Molly Rogers and her costume design legacy at our second annual Fashion in Focus event. Rogers’ inspirational, groundbreaking work has helped inform decades of mainstream fashion, and she continues to entertain new generations of fans with her storytelling through costume.”
Series Fest will be held from May 6th to May 10th in Denver, Colorado. The nonprofit will host a wide range of programs including scripted, unscripted and late-night pilot competitions, exclusive screenings, series premieres, innovation talks, panels, workshops and parties. Additional program details will be announced soon.
