Rihanna gave a poignant round of applause to a security guard after being slammed in the door in a viral video.
The 37-year-old singer was leaving the Four Seasons in New York City on Friday when an employee barged through the hotel door and continued walking without looking back.
The Grammy winner stopped just as the door was closing in on her, pushed forward and sarcastically declared, “You’re such a gentleman, aren’t you?”
She giggled to herself and followed the man to his car.
Rihanna’s fans shot a security guard over the weekend and demanded that Rihanna be “fired.”
One person predicted, “Last day of work, champion.”
Another woman pointed out, “If he wasn’t paying attention to the door, how could he protect her?”
However, some slammed the songwriter in hopes that someone would open the door for her.
“Does she have no hands?” a social media user asked.
One netizen agreed, saying, “She should have held her head up and grabbed the door. …Famous or not, always look out for yourself.”
Rihanna’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The Fenty Beauty creator has been out all week supporting her partner A$AP Rocky’s album Don’t Be Damn.
The couple wore coordinating bomber jackets at the 37-year-old’s launch party on Thursday night.
On Saturday night, she braved the cold to attend the “Saturday Night Live” afterparty celebrating Rocky as the sketch show’s musical guest.
The couple have been dating since late 2019 and have three children together: son RZA (3 years old), son Riot (2 years old), and daughter Rocky (4 months).
The two were friends for years until Rocky’s mother convinced him to date Rihanna.
“My mom used to say, ‘I know you like the girl you’re with right now’ — she won’t say her name — ‘but I want to be with you and RiRi,'” he told The New York Times’ “Popcast” listeners on Thursday. “I’m like, ‘Mommy, why do you keep saying that? She doesn’t want that for me.'”
“A mother knows best,” Rocky joked, before adding, “I’m grateful that[Rihanna]came into my life at that time, because I don’t think I was ready for something like that before.”
