Madeline Perez and Luke Berry are married!

The “90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise” and “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” stars said “I do” on Sunday, February 2 of last year in Colombia, the same country where they met and fell in love. The newlyweds’ celebration was broadcast on Monday night’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.

“It was incredibly beautiful to feel like we had somehow made it after a journey full of hardships and ups and downs,” Madeline exclusively tells PEOPLE. “Despite everything, we were proudly successful and married. It meant everything to us.”

Madeline was “deeply involved in every detail” to ensure the wedding truly reflected their “dreams.” She planned this celebration almost alone and spared no expense.

“I’m a perfectionist and like to get involved in the details, so it was very stressful, but in the end it was a magical day and a dream come true,” she says.

Madeline made a grand entrance via helicopter and wowed the 130 guests as she appeared in a sparkling princess-style ball gown. She then changed into two mermaid style dresses.

“From the beginning, I knew I wanted to arrive at the altar by helicopter,” the TLC star says. “When we visited the property, we immediately fell in love not only with its beauty, but also with the helipad. That’s when we knew it was the perfect location for our wedding.”

Luke was shocked to see Madeline.

“When I walked down the aisle and he looked at me, it was an incredibly tender and sweet moment that we will remember forever,” says Madeline.

After exchanging traditional vows, Madeline and Luke headed to a purple and white themed reception. There, a three-course plated dinner, delicious desserts, and a five-tier wedding cake with a 3D figurine topper awaited.

For Madeline, marriage means “a testament to our love and all the years we spent together.”

The quality that newlyweds most admire in their relationship is their “nobility.”

“The genuine love we have for each other and the deep respect we share,” Madeline says. “We admire how people always choose love, even in difficult moments.”

The two are “very excited” to enter the next chapter of their relationship.

“We are currently in the process of getting a K-1 visa and have already received our first approval, which has us full of hope and anticipation for what’s next,” Madeline said.
