Brooklyn Beckham had “no choice” but to break his silence about a years-long family feud.
In a lengthy statement shared on Instagram Stories on Monday, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham said he had made an effort to “tell the truth about some of the lies that have been instilled in me” by his parents, who allegedly “continue to appear in the press” about him and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
“I don’t want to reconcile with my family,” the 26-year-old wrote. “I’m not being controlled. For the first time in my life, I’m standing up for myself. My parents have always controlled what was said about our family in the media.”
Brooklyn continued, “My parents have always controlled media coverage of our family with performative social media posts, family affairs, and fake relationships. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths to which they have fed countless lies to the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, in order to save face.”
He pointed out that “the truth always comes out” and claimed that David, 50, and Victoria, 51, had “constantly tried to ruin[his]relationship” with Peltz, 31, even before they set foot on the Virgin Road in April 2022.
“It didn’t stop,” he claimed. “Despite Nicola being so excited to wear her design, her mother canceled the production of Nicola’s dress at the 11th hour, leaving Nicola scrambling to find a new dress.”
David and Victoria allegedly “repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe” Brooklyn to “remove rights to the name” ahead of their wedding in Florida. He also claimed that on the eve of the wedding, “(his) family” told Mr. Peltz that he was “not related by blood” and “not family.”
“They have never treated me the same way since then, even though my forbearance affected my payday,” he claimed. “During the wedding planning, my mother even called me a ‘bad guy’ because Nicola and I decided to include our husbandless nanny Sandra and Nicola’s Naunni at the table. Both of our parents had their own table next to ours.”
He went on to confirm an earlier report from Page Six that Victoria had hijacked the newlyweds’ first dance in a “severely hurtful” stunt.
“Marc Anthony called me on stage in front of 500 wedding guests. The schedule was for a romantic dance with my wife, but instead he waited for my mother to dance with me,” he recalled. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I have never felt so uncomfortable and humiliated in my life.”
He and Peltz renewed their vows in August 2025 to “create new memories of our wedding day that bring joy and happiness, not anxiety and shame.”
Brooklyn didn’t directly mention his siblings Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, but added that the Beckham family “values public promotion and endorsements above all else” because “the Beckham brand comes first.”
He explained, “Family’s ‘love’ is determined by how much we post on social media, or how quickly we drop everything and show up and pose for a family photo shoot, even at the expense of our family.”

“We have worked hard for years to show up and support every fashion show, every party, and every press event to show ‘our perfect family,'” Brooklyn continued. “But when my wife asked for my mother’s help in rescuing dogs evacuated during the Los Angeles fires, my mother refused.”
He squarely attacked the “narrative dominated by (his) wife,” calling the idea “totally backwards.”
Brooklyn asserted, “I have been under the control of my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. After being separated from my family, for the first time in my life, that anxiety disappeared. I wake up every morning and feel peace and relief, grateful for the life I have chosen.”
“Neither my wife nor I want a life shaped by images, press or manipulation. All we want is peace, privacy and happiness for ourselves and our future families.”
Representatives for David and Victoria did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Rumors of tension between the Beckhams have swirled since Brooklyn and Peltz’s marriage, but they only intensified last year.
One of the most headline-grabbing stories was that the Brooklyn couple apparently skipped David’s star-studded 50th birthday party last May. But in a new statement, Brooklyn claimed she was “rejected” from plans to travel to London with Peltz to celebrate her father.
“[My father]rejected everything we tried to do unless it was a big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras on every corner,” he claimed. “When he finally agreed to meet me, it was on the condition that he didn’t invite Nicola. It was like a slap in the face.”
Earlier this month, Brooklyn warned her parents to only contact her through her lawyer. We heard last week that “Brooklyn made this decision after constant attempts to set boundaries were ignored.”
A source clarified to Us at the time that “Nicola will always support his decisions” and that “if one day Brooklyn wants to see his family, Nicola will support him.”
