Jon Stewart exclaims, “What the hell is going on in this country?”

On this week’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Jon Stewart addressed last weekend’s fast-moving topics, including Donald Trump’s response to Venezuela after the detention of Nicolas Maduro, proposed U.S. military action in Cuba, Greenland and Iran, and the backlash from the shooting death of 37-year-old American Renee Goode, who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minnesota.

“How was your weekend? Did you have fun?” Stewart said at the beginning of Monday’s show. “How was your weekend? Yeah. What the hell is going on? What the hell is going on in this country? From Minnesota to Venezuela to Iran to Greenland to Cuba to Mexico to Colombia.”

Stewart went on to say that with all the turmoil going on in America, he feels like the country is on a “Donald Trump graviton,” adding: “I don’t know what’s going to be up or down. I just know that we’re all going to feel like we’re going to throw up.”

The late night pundit labeled President Trump the “catalyst for all this chaos and chaos” and accused him of “TGIFizing” it while the rest of the world scrambles for stability.

“Meanwhile, our State Department is saying, ‘If you’re an American, there are armed groups[in Venezuela]that are trying to kill you,'” Stewart said. “So you would think that maybe this is a situation tent or we need to get together a little bit in a place that is operationally appropriate to talk about Venezuela right now. But the president had other ideas.”

Stewart then cut to a clip from ABC News reporting that President Trump “gathered oil executives at the White House to discuss breaking up Venezuelan oil” over the weekend.

“What the hell is going on?” cried the late night expert. “By the way, don’t worry that Donald Trump somehow feels the burden of this moment, the terrible responsibility for so many lives that are held in his hands. Rest assured, he’s fine.”

The show then cut a clip of the meeting, with Trump interrupting the sit-in to look out the window and praise the construction of a new ballroom.

“And look at Rubio and Vance,” Stewart joked. “Look at the looks on Haeckel and Jeckle’s faces here. It’s like, ‘Oh, Pawpaw! You’re so cute! I’ll see you when the ice cream truck rolls by!'”
