she is attractive
Jessica Simpson doesn’t seem worried about finding a new man, a year after announcing her separation from estranged husband Eric Johnson.
The pop star made rare comments about her exciting single life in an interview with TMZ published Monday.
When the outlet asked if she would ever appear on “The Bachelorette,” Simpson cheekily replied, “I have options. I’m fine.”
The “Irresistible” singer admitted he has no interest in appearing on the popular dating show.
When a reporter pointed out that appearing on the series would bring in “huge ratings,” Simpson admitted, “I don’t care about that.”
Simpson, 45, dodged questions about what she was looking for in a partner and didn’t say more about her love life.
In July 2025, the “Take My Breath Away” singer revealed she was looking for a date with a man who was a good smoocher.
“You must be a really good kisser,” she told the Today show at the time, adding: “You know, that’s like the most intimate thing. Grab my face and pull me close!”
Simpson said she is ready to date and is looking for someone with unique qualities.
“My type is one-of-a-kind,” she said. “I don’t have a look or anything like that. I just like when someone is who they are and exudes confidence without ego.”
She also expressed optimism, saying she feels like the perfect match for her is “out there.”
“You don’t need someone to support you all the time,” she said. “The independence that I have now, if I could take it and give it to other people, that would be great.”
“I have a lot to give,” she added.
Simpson is also considering the idea of a May-December romance.
“I think I’m interested in younger men right now,” she told Extra at the All’s Fair premiere in Los Angeles in October 2025.
“When you’re newly separated…I feel like younger men like the confidence of older women,” she explained. “I’m having fun!”
The “Open Book” author has been single since January 2025, when he announced that he and Johnson had separated after 10 years of marriage.
Simpson and the former NFL player, who married in 2014, have three children together: daughters Maxwell Drew, 13, and Birdie Mae, 6, and son Ace Knute, 12.
The two appear to be on good terms as they spent this Thanksgiving together with their children.
A source previously told Page Six that Johnson and Simpson ended their relationship because they struggled with “trust issues.”
“They were no longer on the same page. That drove a wedge between them,” the source said.
Simpson also suggested that Johnson, 46, had been cheating on her in the lyrics of her song “Leave,” which she released last March.
The hitmaker was married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006. She also dated several high-profile men, including John Mayer, Adam Levine, and Tony Romo.
