Amanda Seyfried couldn’t help but grimace when she lost the Golden Globe to Rose Byrne on Sunday.
Seyfried’s reaction was caught on camera when the “If I Had Legs I Would Kick” star, 46, was announced as the winner for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
The Ang Lee Testament star, 40, winced as she clapped, then stood up with a smile.
“Didn’t anyone talk about Amanda Seyfried’s face when Rose Byrne won in her place?” one X user asked.
Other social media users certainly noted Seyfried’s expression, with some claiming that it was actually Hudson, 46, who looked “angry.”
A representative for Seyfried did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The actresses were nominated along with Emma Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Kate Hudson and Chase Infinity.
Elsewhere in the evening, Seyfried lost again – this time for Best Actress – in the Made-for-TV Miniseries or Movie category.
One X user pointed out that the “Long Bright River” star started clapping before the winner, Michelle Williams, was announced.
The “Big Love” alum predicted he would lose while speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet ahead of the show.
“Losing twice in one night is unheard of, because that’s what I want,” Seyfried quipped.
She went on to gush about how “lucky” she feels to be so “busy” with the role.
Seyfried attended the event wearing custom Versace and styled her hair in what she called an “old Hollywood low bun.”
She has won one Golden Globe Award, receiving that honor in 2023 for her role as Elizabeth Holmes in The Dropout.
At the time, Seyfried was absent from the ceremony to film another project and did not give an acceptance speech.
During Byrne’s speech over the weekend, the “Physical” alum explained why her partner Bobby Cannavale wasn’t there to watch her win.
“We were going to get a bearded dragon and he was at the New Jersey reptile expo so he couldn’t be here,” she said. “So, thank you. Thank you, baby.”
Ms Byrne said she brought her older brother George as a date instead.
