Tina Knowles has shared a new video of her childhood Blue Ivy dance. She also posted some throwbacks from the dancer’s family history. Blue Ivy appeared on two of Beyoncé’s tours.
Tina Knowles took a trip down memory lane on her Instagram timeline this week, reliving and reposting some of her granddaughter Blue Ivy Carter’s best dance moments. Now 14, she began her dance career at a young age, as seen in the video Knowles shared of her early recitals at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
Blue can be seen grooving in the front row, wearing a white tank and leggings with a sash. Knowles captioned the video: “Blue Ivy has been so much fun ever since I can remember. It’s the roots of natural dance!!! I love this video @therealdebbieallen recital!!!”

Knowles also shared a fan-edited video montage of moments from Blue Ivy’s life, showing her dancing, hanging out with her family, and hanging out on set with her mother, Beyoncé.
Blue Ivy continues to dance on both Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour and Cowboy Carter’s Tour. In Renaissance: A Beyoncé Movie, the superstar talked about how she approached her daughter’s first big stage dance.
“Blue said she was ready to perform, so I told her ‘no,'” Beyoncé admitted. “I didn’t think being on a stadium stage was the right place for an 11-year-old kid. Everything I had to go through, the obstacles I had to overcome, prepared me for it. And she hasn’t gone through those struggles.”
He continued, “I made a contract with her. I said, “If you practice and show effort, I’ll let you do one show.”” So we let her do it. I could feel her climbing the elevator behind me. When I caught a glimpse of her face, I almost fainted…’I thought, ‘Why did I say yes?’ ”
During the Cowboy Carter tour, Blue Ivy was joined by her sister Rumi Carter and made her stage debut on Beyoncé’s song “Protector”, which featured her voice. The two girls were nominated for their performance in the Favorite Tour Tradition category at the 13th iHeartRadio Music Awards.
